Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said Cocktail Recipe

The cocktail Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said is named after science fiction novel of the same name of the year 1974 by American writer Philip K. Dick. The novel is set in a futuristic dystopia where the United States has become a police state in the aftermath of a Second American Civil War. The story follows genetically enhanced pop singer and television star Jason Taverner who wakes up in a world where he has never existed. If that’s too complicated for you, the cocktail definitely exists.

  • 60 ml/ 2 oz. light Rum
  • 20 ml/ ¾ oz. Apricot Brandy
  • 20 ml/ ¾ oz. Green Chartreuse
  • 15 ml/ ½ oz. freshly squeezed lime juice

  1. Pour all ingredients into shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with an apricot wedge.

Green Chartreuse (55% alcohol) is the original 1737 green liqueur, made from the 1605 recipe by Chartreuse Monks even today. The colour chartreuse is named after this liqueur.

Yellow Chartreuse (40% alcohol) was introduced in the 1800’s and is a milder, sweeter flavour and aroma than it’s older brother.

Wimbledon Martini Cocktail Recipe

The Wimbledon Martini cocktail was created in London sometime during the 1990s when every cocktail served in a V-shaped glass was called a Martini. It takes some time getting through the fine strainer, but when you do it’s simply strawberries and cream with the faintest hint of alcohol. Wimbledon is all about strawberries and cream. […]

Old Cuban Cocktail Recipe

The Old Cuban cocktail is a Rum, lime, mint and Champagne cocktail. It is considered a refined short drink variant of the classic and popular long drink Mojito (white Rum, lime, mint, sugar, sparkling water), as it is infused with Champagne instead of soda water. In contrast to the Mojito, however, it is not white […]

This drinks legendary status is partly due to its featuring in The Rummy Affair of Old Biffy by P.G. Wodehouse. Bertie Wooster […]

Green Demon | St. Patrick`s Day Cocktail Recipe

My St. Patrick`s Day cocktail recipe for this year is called the Green Demon cocktail. The cocktail is green in colour and tastes like honeydew and lemon. It’s all about the melon flavor of the Midori cut with the tartness of lemon juice. That said, you’ll also find some Vodka and Rum in this drink. […]
