Bobby Burns Cocktail Recipe

BOBBY BURNS COCKTAIL Recipe

The Bobby Burns cocktail is a Whisky cocktail composed of Scotch, Vermouth and Bénédictine liqueur. The original recipe comes from the 1900 edition of Fancy Drinks, published by Bishop & Babcock where it is called the “Baby Burns”. The drink is named for Robert Burns, the Scottish poet, but is not considered a national drink in the way the Rusty Nail is.

INGREDIENTS

  • 45 ml/ 1 ½ oz. Scotch Whisky
  • 45 ml/ 1 ½ oz. Red Vermouth
  • 3 dashes Bénédictine  
  • lemon peel

METHOD

  1. Pour all ingredients into shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Squeeze lemon peel on top
  3. Shake well.
  4. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
