Fancy Free Cocktail Recipe

FANCY FREE COCKTAIL Recipe

The Fancy Free cocktail is basically a Whiskey Old Fashioned with maraschino instead of sugar. But it tastes surprisingly dry, supported by generous splashes of orange and aromatic bitters. The cocktail was invented in 1940.

INGREDIENTS

  • 60 ml/ 2 oz. Bourbon Whisky
  • 12,5 ml/ 5/12  oz. Maraschino liqueur
  • 3 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • 2 dashes of Orange bitters

METHOD

  1. Fill a mixing glass ⅔ full off ice.
  2. Add the ingredients and stir until chilled.
  3. Add a big ice cube into chilled old fashioned glass.
  4. Strain into the old fashioned glass.
  5. Garnish with an orange zest twist.
