The Purple Rain cocktail is a cool party cocktail from the 80s, which certainly stands out more for its color than its taste. But the purple color is really fun at any party. The color comes from the combination of red Grenadine syrup and Blue Curaçao liqueur. The effect is enhanced by the acidity of the lime juice.
INGREDIENTS
- 30 ml/ ¼ oz. Vodka
- 30 ml/ ¼ oz. Blue Curaçao liqueur
- 15 ml/ ½ oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
- 15 ml/ ½ oz. Grenadine syrup
- 60 ml/ 2 oz. Sprite or 7up, to top
METHOD
- Pour the Vodka, Blue Curaçao, Grenadine syrup and the lime juice into a highball glass filled with ice.
- Stir gently.
- Top up with lemonade.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and serve with a straw.
