Rhine Wine Cobbler Cocktail Recipe

RHINE WINE COBBLER Cocktail Recipe

The Rhine Wine Cobbler cocktail is light, fruity and very refreshing. It serves as a fruity alternative to the Spritz—though the recipe actually dates back to 1882; mind you, the Spritz didn’t even exist back then. A Cobbler is a refreshing, usually wine- or spirit-based cocktail that is traditionally served in a large glass with plenty of crushed ice and fresh fruit.

INGREDIENTS

  • 90 ml/ 3 oz. Riesling wine
  • 15 ml/ ½ oz. orange juice
  • 15 ml/ ½ oz. sugar syrup
  • 3 – 5 green grapes (seedless)
  • 2 pineapple wedges

METHOD

  1. Muddle the grapes and the pineapple wedges in base of shaker.
  2. Fine strain (without shaking) into glass filled with crushed ice.
  3. Pour other ingredients into glass.
  4. Cobble (stir/whisk) with a bar spoon to thoroughly combine everything.
  5. Garnish with a grape, an orange slice wheel and a pineapple wedge.
